The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued an 8-1 ruling that rebuffs former President Donald Trump by allowing the release of presidential documents sought by the congressional committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot.

The recent Senate fiasco over health care is only one of many examples. That does not mean that I would expect to win every political battle. Indeed, the point of a constitutional system governed by the rule of law is not to guarantee outcomes.
The rule of law corresponds roughly to the idea that a society both possesses and observes formal codes or norms that effectively constrain individual, institutional and governmental behaviour.
