1. The rules for public landvary depending on which government agency manages the land and the location and use of the land. For example, the rules and regulations for a national park might differ than those of a national forest or a state park. Luckily, most locations have very clear camping and overnight parking rules available on their website or in person, or over the phone with a ranger or officer. When going to an extremely popular park like Yellowstone or Yosemite, it may be necessary to reserve a spot ahead of time, particularly at popular vacation times. While most know about the big national parks and forests, some less experienced RVers might not be familiar with the thousands of acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) or the Army Corps of Engineers. According to the BLM, up to 99% of their land is free to use for recreational purposes.

1. Check your driver’s license. While some states don’t require a special driver’s license for operating an RV, others might, depending on the size of the vehicle.
2. Right on red — maybe. Before you make that right turn on red, make sure you are in one of the many states that allow it. While “right on red” is normally legal across the United States, not all states or cities allow it.
3. Don’t go down there. Sometimes as you cruise along, you might need to make your way through a residential neighborhood. Well, believe it or not, some towns don’t allow RVs of certain lengths down residential or even city streets.
4. Know your size. If you have a 14-foot high RV, you better think twice before cruising through Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas and many other states because they restrict the height to 13 feet 6 inches.
5. Check your equipment. Colorado and several other states require specific safety equipment, including safety chains. Other commonly required safety equipment are a breakaway switch, fire extinguishers in the RV, flares and reflective signs.
6. Know when to ride in back. If you’re cruising down the road and somebody wants to ride in the RV trailer or even pick-up bed camper, consider the state you’re in and its laws before saying yes.

1. The statute creates two presumptions for when a vehicle has not been repaired “within a reasonable number of attempts.” Under the first presumption, if a consumer has taken the vehicle to an authorized service agent for repair of the same nonconformity on at least three occasions, and the nonconformity has not been repaired, then the vehicle owner or lessee must notify the manufacturer of the nonconformity in writing, by registered or express mail, in order to give the manufacturer a final opportunity to repair the defect. The manufacturer has 10 days from receipt of the notification to direct the vehicle owner or lessee to a reasonably accessible repair facility. After the vehicle is delivered to the repair facility, the manufacturer has no more than 10 days to fix the nonconformity (45 days for a recreation vehicle). If the manufacturer fails to correct the nonconformity, the vehicle is presumed to be a lemon. Under the second presumption, if a consumer’s vehicle is out of service...

What are the laws for a motorhome in the US?

Although it’s nearly impossible to remember every specific law from state to state, there are some general rules and standards to keep in mind: Most states maintain a height limit of 14’ for all RVs, but restrictions of 13’6” are quite common. The length of your motorhome or trailer is likely limited to 40’ or 45’.

Where is the cheapest place to buy an RV in USA?

To buy an RV in USA, Montana is the ideal state! Montana is undoubtedly the winner. It will top any list of the cheapest state to buy RV, at least until the state changes its laws regarding outsiders opening a company there and use it to purchase a vehicle. The next best state to buy an RV is Texas.

Is it illegal to live in an RV in the US?

Snopes (the reputable debunking website) did a good job of showing that it’s not really about making living in RVs and tiny houses illegal nationwide, it’s more about redefining the verbiage of the law to extend and include some of the larger (more than 400 square feet) RVs.
