1. Three types of students may consider applying to the HLS J.D. Program: (1) regular J.D. applicants, (2) Junior Deferral Program applicants (JDP), and (3) transfer applicants. Applicants admitted to both the J.D. program and a Ph.D. program at the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences will qualify for consideration for our J.D./Ph.D. tuition funding program if their intention is to pursue a career in academia. A limited number of students receive full-tuition funding for the J.D. portion of their joint program. Candidates who take the LSAT and/or GRE may only apply to HLS via the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) and must participate in the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). When we receive and process your application, HLS will request your LSACs Credential Assembly Service report, which includes your LSAT score(s), academic transcripts, LSAT writing sample(s), and letters of recommendation. All applicants, whether taking the LSAT or GRE, must also register for LSACs Credential Assembly Service and have all undergraduate and graduate transcripts sent to Law Services. When we receive and process your application, HLS will request your LSACs Credential Assembly Service report, and Law Services will send it directly to HLS.
