Patent Pro Bono Program for independent inventors and small businesses. The Patent Pro Bono Program is a nationwide network of independently operated regional programs that match volunteer patent professionals with financially under-resourced inventors and small businesses for the purpose of securing patent protection.
Pro bono attorneys are attorneys who work for clients without compensation, contributing their skills to people who might not be able to afford an attorney otherwise. Working pro bono is commonly encouraged by bar associations, and many attorneys volunteer to perform pro bono work each year.
