1.1 Governing statute. Chapter 39 of Title 24 of the Delaware Code governs the Board of Social Work Examiners (“Board”) and the professions under its purview. 1.2.1 Pursuant to 24 Del.C. §3906 (a) (1), the Board is authorized and hereby adopts these rules and regulations.
Delaware offers licensure by reciprocity to clinical social workers licensed in other states. To be eligible, you must hold a current clinical social work license in another state and have not had any disciplinary actions against you.
The Delaware Board of Clinical Social Work Examiners requires LCSW candidates to have supervised experience prior to becoming licensed. LCSW candidates must have at least two years of post-graduate experience (a minimum of 3,200 hours).
