8. Fort Delaware, Delaware City. Fort Delaware is now inactive, in that it no longer serves as a harbor defense facility. However, it is certainly still active in terms of paranormal activity, with it being listed as one of the most haunted forts in America!

1. Fort Delaware – Delaware City. Now a state park, Fort Delaware once imprisoned Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Now the soldiers’ restless spirits reportedly pace the halls, searching for a way out.
2. Cry Baby Bridge – Smyrna. A deformed infant reportedly haunts a cry baby bridge in Smyrna (located on Walnut Tree Road between Smyrna, Delaware and Millington, Maryland).
3. Dead Presidents Pub & Restaurant – Wilmington. Housed in a building more than 200 years old, Dead Presidents Pub is reportedly haunted, not by a dead president, but by “Lemonade” Mullery, a former patron who died after slipping on a puddle of urine in the men’s room.
4. Addy Sea Bed & Breakfast – Bethany Beach. Built in the early 1900s, the Addy Sea Inn has three haunted rooms, plus a haunted roof. The original cooper bathtub in Room 1 reportedly shakes violently when the resident spirit is displeased.
5. Woodland Beach – Woodland. In the early 1900s, a popular boardwalk once stood on Woodland Beach. Only a few posts remain now. According to local lore, the living can see the spirits of the dead walking along the old boardwalk under the light of the full moon.
6. Deer Park Tavern – Newark. Once a hotel, now a bar and restaurant, Deer Park Tavern is reportedly plagued by unexplained footsteps and a door that creaks open and close on its own.
7. Lums Pond State Park – Newark. Legend has it a runaway in the 1870s was raped and murdered in the woods near what is now Lums Pond State Park. Authorities never caught the killer, and the murder slowly started to fade from public consciousness.
8. Rockwood Mansion – Wilmington. Built in 1851, the Rockwood Mansion was home to the prosperous Bringhurst family for more than 70 years. Now, the mansion and its grounds serve as a museum and public park.
9. Cannonball House – Lewes. This aptly named home has a cannon ball in its front wall, a gift from the British during the War of 1812. However, it’s not a soldier that reportedly haunts this historic home but rather a former resident who burned to death after her dress caught fire.
10. Christiana Fire Company – Christiana. They say two ghosts haunt the Christiana firehouse, one good and one evil. The evil spirit lurks near the engineer’s room, appearing as a menacing shadow in the doorway.

1. Fort Delaware - Delaware City, DE. Fort Delaware is a harbor defense facility that was designed by Joseph Gilbert Totten, a chief engineer. The fort is located on Pea Patch Island in the Delaware River and sits on six acres.
2. Cape Henlopen State Park - Lewes, DE. This Delaware state park is situated on over five acres and was founded in 1964. It is managed by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and is rumored to be quite haunted.

4. Blevin's House - Smyrna, DE. Blevin's House in Smyrna dates back to the late 19th Century and is said to be haunted by a number of spirits. Reports here include ghostly balls of light that have been seen throughout the halls and rooms, or from outside in the garden, footsteps, disembodied voices, feelings of someone being around while you're alone and spectral figures that have been spotted in some of the rooms.
5. Woodburn/Governor's Mansion - Dover, DE. The Delaware Governor's Mansion dates back to 1790 and is also known as Woodburn or Governor's House. It is the official residence of the Governor of Delaware and the governor's family and is located on Kings Highway East.
6. Cannonball House - Lewes, DE. Dating back to 1765, this historic home located on Front Street was once the most well-known building in Lewes. It has survived the 1813 shelling of Lewes by the British during the War of 1812 and still has a cannonball lodged in its side to this very day!
7. Lums Pond State Park - Bear, DE. This state park was established in 1963 and surrounds Lums Pond. There have been a number of reports at this park that involve ghostly screams and pleading coming from the woods, just off the hiking trail around the pond.
8. Delaware City Hotel - Delaware City, DE. The Delaware City Hotel is no longer in operation and is now Crabby Dick's Bar, but is believed to be haunted by several ghosts.
9. The Addy Sea - Bethany Beach, DE. The Addy Sea is located on Ocean View Parkway in Bethany Beach and operates as an adult-only bed and breakfast. The Victorian-style home is a historic Delaware location that is said to be pretty haunted.
